was a busy day for me today, I used my new found vibe coding skills to make a cache manager for my builder, it speeds me up and saves me downloading things over and over during tests. My rsync testing is too slow and doubles the needed space, I'll get AI to help me sort that tomorrow. there must be some way to move merge (I may just rename the original move the new and move the content in one at a time - it would be much faster IMO. but I don't want to type it all then debug. AI FTW.
  4. Glenn @ Glenn:
Well maybe not FTW, AI FTL
  5. Glenn @ Glenn:
good news AI helped me get it fast AND it now works in the Live OS without it using more ram :)
  6. Glenn @ Glenn:
I've mostly been using gemini, it gets along with me better over all
  7. Glenn @ Glenn:
I've built the AIO, it's 15GB but packed full of everything I always install, so I can just boot it, pick install and hand it over. I am going to test it once it's copied off the VM where I built it. I've had 8 major upgrades done today and found 2 bugs that I fixed. So a big day. Not much has changed, but I am preparing it for future changes, it'll be faster, more features and just eventually better. it is prettier on the startup now as it says what it's doing instead of guessing and random countdown.
  8. Glenn @ Glenn:
Only the one bug left out of the 8, the rest seem solved. I am still having an issue with a fast move command, but I think AI and I got it this time, the trick was to move the non existing folder first, this reduced the overhead of the alternative merge methods :)
  9. Glenn @ Glenn:
Was a hard slog, but I got there, it's all good again :)
  10. Glenn @ Glenn:
You now have Flatpaks, AppImages and WINE all available from the LiveOS, so I now can release a full 15GB pre installed (as I'd install the OS), nothing is missing, it's just setup and working, it does use more ram (2.3gb instead of the smaller 1.3gb on the other, but it would still run great on a 4gb machine, limited to 2 or 3 webpages etc, but hopefully most will have 8gb+ nowdays anyway
  11. Glenn @ Glenn:
Never mind, the ram usage of the installed OS is within the margin of error, meaning it's not using any extra, just the Live OS is a tad more resource heavy, I never really looked how much it used, maybe it's the same.
  12. Glenn @ Glenn:
I'll upload my MASSIVE ISO, I think there may be a WinRAR error on first run, but I am just wanting to share it because it took a lot to get the LiveOS to have Flatpak etc supported - way more than I thought when I first made the WINE ability on the LiveOS, which didn't work properly BTW, but now it does.
  13. Glenn @ Glenn:
ok the WinRAR error is from the Visual Runtimes, I think it's because they've already been installed... Meaning It's a minor error, but I'll just hold off, not a lot of people are downloading it, so I'll give it another few days and then upload it, maybe the winrar not having access is a bigger issue than I think, I'll go install a flatpak and make sure they do as they are told
  14. Glenn @ Glenn:
Yeah it's fine, so pretty sure it's due to them being installed already causing the error. I'll just remove them from the AIO, no need to install runtimes if the OS already has them integrated anyway :D
  15. Glenn @ Glenn:
only photoshop is failing on the wine transfer, tomorrow I'll try it without it ever being installed and see if it then works on a cloned wine prefix. hopefully it works, then I can just not include that one app by default, else it'll mean a bigger bug. as it is, saving time pre installing all the others is still worth while.
  16. Glenn @ Glenn:
Fixed, it was the fact the VM didn't have quite enough space left, I increased it to 50gb and it ran first go, LOL spent longer than I like to admit on that, but at least it made the script VERY robust
  17. K @ kpluskaran:
Great Sir! I tried out the AIO Lastos. The apps found is less and games more... Still the 15GB level ISO looks too much. Why is that so? Meanwhile, since I am not into games and stuff, am planning to remove all the games and rebuild the ISO again with Penguins eggs. Will that work, and the size be reduced? Anyways nice effort from your side. Thanks...
  18. Glenn @ Glenn:
Grab the previous ISO that is smaller, the AIO is only for myself really, every install I do on these old PC's I salvage get the full suite as once they are sold I never see them again, not everyone will use LLStore to pick what they want, so instead I give a default. There is never a need to remove things from a Build, they don't slow the system down, they just take some space. but like I've said the intended audience for this 15gb release is basic home users who do not know what they should do next on their PC. As it offers Chrome, Open Office, Photoshop, games etc etc, they don't have to guess anymore.
  19. K @ kpluskaran:
Nice to hear! where could I get the previous ISO? Couldn't find in sourceforge. Moreover can Penguins eggs be executed to generate an ISO of my system by simple sudo eggs produce --clone? Thanks for your response...
  20. Glenn @ Glenn:
yes it can and the same post that you found the 15gb version had a link at the top (not the direct link), as well as the releases threads here have one for a direct link.
