AtlasOS über Last11

Hi Glenn,

I'm not sure if you're familiar with “AtlasOS”?

AtlasOS is based on Windows 11, but it removes various features that have caused thousands of users to abandon Windows and switch to Linux.

Once AtlasOS is installed (which takes a while), Windows is or seems to be much faster. The latter is no surprise, of course, because a lot of background activities are no longer running.

I'm only mentioning this because I just installed your Last11 in a KVM environment out of interest to see what you've built there.

My thought here was whether it might be possible to offer an ISO with AtlasOS already integrated.

What do you think? Interested in such a project?

Take a look at: https://atlasos.net

Best regards

Tommy

in the past I'd have taken what i could from such projects, i'd call it dissecting it. I used to do it for everything i found. BUT NO MORE!

every month when the updates hit, things break on highly modded OS or revert the changes back to microsoft defaults. I personally am sick of fighting with windows 11 and I also hate the direction they are taking it. Subscriptions, Tracking, forced updates, ads, AI embedded instead of optional. TPM required security for new anti cheat. bitlocker lockouts, one drive moving files off the users pc to the cloud, also making it seem like it's backed up but if you remove it off one drive it deletes it off the local PC. locking peoples accounts when they get hacked also removing xbox and minecraft purchases as the accounts lock.

i want people to move to linux. Microsoft have shown how much that value its customers and I doubt they'll ever change now they've invested billions to do it the way they have and they refuse to listen to feedback.

imagine how crap of a company they have to be to fire 10s of thousands of its testers and coders and rely on AI for it now, every single month more and more is breaking and the fixes keep breaking other things.

i see people post windows 11 is better than windows 10. no it is not! but if you only use chrome, steam, word and photoshop for 99% of your computer tasks, I can see why you feel the modern interface would feel like a better OS, I mean the flash bang of win 10 task manager is pretty bad on my dark theme PC, but underneath 11 they have an awesome kernel and driver model. it's a shame the UI is bipolar and the updates are stupid. win 10 has a classic/legacy feel that just gets things done...

Linux makes using PCs fun again (for me at least), that's why i switched. i won't switch back now. Microsoft lost my respect.

Hi Glenn,

I can really underline every word and every sentence. Very good. That's exactly the philosophy I follow. Humanity that you can feel. At Microsoft, all that is gone. I would almost say (if that weren't also a human construct) that Bill Gates was seduced by the devil and sold his soul for money and profit. That may sound strange and like I'm parroting something, but as a truly feeling person with a spiritual background, I can't say anything else. It's like in the Book of Revelation, the seduction that leads to everything else.

I don't want to spread religious nonsense here, but anyone who knows all the scriptures must see this. I already saw this with the Covid vaccine and the technology in it, which absolutely must NOT be allowed into our bodies. I also saw parallels here with Revelation. Namely, that nothing can be bought without the number 666. And yes, the mRNA vaccine can be scanned. Just like the number 666 on a barcode.

Okay, I'll stop with the conspiracy theories here. Either you see what I mean or at least make an effort to want to see it, or you simply leave it alone. Then welcome to the perfect slave system.

Back to Gates and Microsoft:
What could be more perfect for controlling humanity? An operating system that EVERYONE uses and without which no one can or may do anything anymore. Together with Google and its snoop dog Android, it's almost complete, to the point where there's no turning back.

What is feasible (see also “Enola Gay” and “Little Boy”) has always been achieved through beautiful words of fearmongering. In other words: Only through US (MS+Google+government+personal ID) can humanity be protected. So they bring the disease and at the same time the cure to be celebrated, just because they know that people are too stupid to understand the whole thing in its entirety.

OK, sorry for this long novel.

Best regards
Tommy

Bill Stepped down from Microsoft, I don't blame him for the direction Windows has gone, his original design for windows was great (well after Windows 95), he has been helping humanity by producing machines to make clean water in 3rd world countries and trying to make the world better. He also washes his own dishes - meaning he understands how simple labour can be it's own reward, he never let money change his underlying self. So if you want to blame Microsoft that is ok with me, because they are doing what every big tech does (it seams), they treat customers well, then they treat their business customers well, finally they claw out every last cent they can from business when the home users have given up and finally they sell what they have left to the highest bidder, it's happened again and again. Because the forgot the fundamentals of sustainability - Progress before profits, once they switch places, it can only go downwards.

But now we're talking at cross-purposes, Glenn.

I mean, in essence, Microsoft's machinations.

Let's be glad that Linux such as Mint, LastOS, CachyOS, etc., or Mac exist. If they didn't, these machinations would have been in place long ago. And I'll say it again, it's only the pandemic that is making all these things possible at the moment, or rather, causing them to happen so rapidly...

And yet C* has awakened many, many people...

Hmm?
